Return to THE HIGHLAND SHEPHERD Home Page

God on high
Hear my prayer
In my need
You have always

been there

He is young
He's afraid
Let him rest
Heaven blessed.
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

He's like the son

I might have known
If God had granted

me a son.
The summers die
One by one
How soon they fly
On and on
And I am old
And will be gone.

Bring him peace
Bring him joy
He is young
He is only a boy.

You can take
You can give
Let him be
Let him live.
If I die, let me die
Let him live,

bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

Rest eternal grant to them, O Lord.

And let light perpetual shine upon them.

May their souls,

and the souls of all the departed,

through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen

For the Armed Forces

Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen

For Peace

O God, it is your will to hold both heaven and earth in a single peace.  Let the design of your great love shine on the waste of our wraths and sorrows, and give peace to your Church, peach among nations, peace in our homes, and peace in our hearts; through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen
